Ben Schoenmaker graduated from Leiden University in 1984. He is known as a generalist, with extensive experience in various fields. Among other things, Ben gained these during the seven years he worked as a company lawyer at the Aalsmeer Flower Auction. As an outside business lawyer for entrepreneurs, starting in 1991, new and different work experiences were added.

Ben Schoenmaker has also been a mediator since 1997. Mediation includes the following areas:
- Business conflicts between entrepreneurs.
- Labor disputes.
- Divorce.
- Inheritances.
- Neighborhood squabbles.
He is a member of the professional association for corporate legal advisors NEVOA, a platform for training and professional technology. Ben is also registered with the Mediators Federation Netherlands (MfN), where all professional mediators are registered. In addition, Ben is one of the founders of MediationGroepHolland (MGH).
